Heckington Show 2007 Heckington Show 2007
Heckington, a small village in Lincolnshire, hosts an annual event which is the largest village agricultural show in the country. It was the first show we were 'invited' to with our Curly Coats. Wurzel and Pepper particularly enjoyed exploring what was hidden under the straw!
Woodhall Spa Show 2008 Woodhall Spa Show 2008
Woodhall Spa, a small town some 10 miles from Rectory Reserve, is famous for being the home of 'Golf'. It also hosts a small annual agricultural show. We were invited to 'show' our curly coats for the first time in 2008 and planned to take Precious, Lily and Butch. The pigs had other ideas though and we ended up taking just Lily as the other two decided that leaving home on that particular Sunday was not in their schedule....

Having caused quite a stir the previous year, we were again invited to 'show' the curly coats at Heckington in 2008. This time we managed to take the whole of Ginger's second litter - except for Little Ern who'd left for his new home the previous day. The piglets were just 3 months old and captivated the hundreds of visitors.
Walcott Country Day 2008 Walcott Country Day 2008
Walcott Country Day is an annual event which takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend. It is held at a farm, by invitation of the farmer, mainly for the purpose of raising funds for the village. Attractions include a fine display of working vintage tractors (which also provide a traditional threshing display) and many stalls selling local produce. We were invited to 'show' the curly coats here by the farmer-host when he visited our pen at Heckington and said they were "just what was needed" for his show! We took Delila and Scratchy, our remaining two weaners from Ginger's second litter. They proved very entertaining - particularly when the football was introduced!

This was our third visit to Heckington and the first time we had opted to take the piglets for both days. Ginger's little litter provided great entertainment to the many visitors - making a feature of hiding in their straw or trying to fall asleep in their water bowl.
Heckington Show 2010 Heckington Show 2010
For the 4th year running we were invited to Heckington Show and, as last year, opted to stay over the two days. On parade were the 4 spices - Ginger's 6th litter. As ever they proved to be great entertainers, alternately rootling around or hiding asleep in the straw. Also on his 4th Attendance at Heckington Show, Gunner now takes his pig guarding duties very seriously - at home as much as away! This was taken before the show opened - not to show how good he is at keeping the people at bay!
